This chapter includes examples of the most common forms of legal notations and charges that are registered as endorsements on title. The legal notations and charges are listed in alphabetical order. Generally, where a specific form of endorsement is required under a particular statute, other than the Land Title Act, the legal notation or charge is listed under the name of that Act. Other forms of endorsements, such as judgments, leases, or mortgages are listed by their usual names.
The list of legal notations and charges is not exhaustive. Note also that endorsements registered on title before the publication of this Manual may, when they are carried forward, retain the historical wording rather than what follows.
