Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, S.B.C. 2004, c. 2, s. 161
- Nature of Instrument: A notice regarding proceedings with respect to an investigation of a person for a contravention of the Act or regulations, the conditions of a licence, or a compliance order, direct sales prohibition order, property freezing order, undertaking or court order made under the Act.
- Filed by or in Favour of: The director designated by the minister for the purposes of the Act where the proceedings may affect land belonging to the person referred to in the notice.
- Effect of Registration: Registration of the notice has the same effect as the registration of a certificate of pending litigation.
- Revocation or Amendment: The director may revoke or amend the notice by filing the revocation or amendment in the land title office. On application, the court may also vary or cancel the registration.
