The Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act provides a mechanism for recognizing, in British Columbia, maintenance orders and agreements made in other provinces and jurisdictions. The effect of recognition is that the orders can be enforced and varied through the courts in British Columbia.

GENERAL EFFECT ON LAND TITLE PRACTICE

Part 3 of the Act deals with the registration of order made outside British Columbia. Once a reciprocating order is registered by a court in British Columbia it can be enforced in British Columbia as if it were an order of the court.
